The history of wine-growing in Saxony is about 800 years old. With about 500 hectares our wine-growing area is the smallest in Germany, yet the number of excellent wines produced here is amazing. Most of the vineyards are steep slopes which need to be worked manually. Many wine-growing estates and private vintners offer events and walking tours with a focus on wine all year round.
